Katelyn's Mid-Season Update

Hello to all my friends out there in blog world!!!

Oh my goodness, I have missed sharing on this blog. I always have the best of intentions to write something and keep everyone updated on what is going on in the Elegant Productions world and then it seems these posts drop to the bottom of my every to-do list...isn't that always the way?!

It's been a whirlwind of a summer around here and I can't even believe it's almost September. It literally feels like just yesterday we were waist deep in final preparations for the entire season and here were are, over halfway complete.

If you've been following along with Elegant Productions via our Instagram and Facebook (thank you Rebecca) you likely already have an idea of what we've been up to.

There has been a lot of weddings, making our new office in the Hydrostone our own, working on the launch of a really exciting sister-brand (stay tuned for this Sept 15th!) and working as a team to bring our clients wedding day visions to life.

We have SO much goodness to share on the blog come the Fall. I always think it's going to be hard to top our last wedding season and then the new season rolls around and they just keep getting better - and prettier!!

At the beginning of the season, Candace Berry, Chelsea Lee Flowers, and some other incredibly talented industry friends got together to ignite our creative spirits for the season ahead. The following images are what came of this dreamy little night at sunset. I hope you adore the photos as much as we do.

I'd love to leave you with the following two little tidbits to take you through the rest of the week....

1. Don't let the rain get you down.
It has hands down been the wettest season of my career planning weddings here in the Maritimes. We have stressed, obsessed and rain-danced our way through the season. But you know what, no matter what the weather each and every Saturday, at the end of the day, there is a couple madly in love with each other, surrounded by their family and friends having just had the best day of their life. At the end of the day, this and only this is all that matters.

2. Remember to be a Fiance, not just a Bride.
In my mind, being a fiance means you and your sweetheart are sharing a short blip of time together prior to becoming husband and wife. It's a time where you go on dates, share long conversation over good food, do the things you love most and look forward to doing the rest of your life together.

A Bride on the other hand, is someone who is planning for one specific day. She's making lists, attending meetings and dress appointments, she's creating seating charts and hounding pesky guests for their meal selections.

As fun as it is to plan a wedding and be a Bride (it really is, we promise), what's, even more fun, is the state of being engaged! So when things start to feel all too much as the big day approaches, I'd encourage you to take a night "off" from the plans and simply do something just the two of you for no other reason than to be together.

Happy Thursday Friends!! We're off to the next one!
